Getting here & parking

Apartmenthaus Kristall is at Haid 39, 5602 Wagrain, Austria – about five minutes on foot from the Grafenberg valley station and about five minutes in the other direction from Wasserwelt Wagrain.

For your satnav: Haid 39, 5602 Wagrain – or use the coordinates 47.32917, 13.30279. Safe route to the house: Google Maps or Apple Maps. Both links route via two stops (the bypass road and Haid 21), so you take the bypass and the correct turn; just carry on when you reach a stop. The approach as a map: OpenStreetMap. For the final approach by car, please also follow the directions below.

By car

From all directions, the A10 Tauern motorway leads towards Wagrain. You can leave at exit 66 Flachau and follow the B163 for about 10 km, or take exit 47, Knoten Pongau (Bischofshofen/St. Johann), continue on the B311 and then the B163. Both routes meet in Wagrain.

A motorway vignette is required on Austrian motorways. It is available at petrol stations, at border crossings or as a digital vignette from ASFINAG (öffnet in neuem Tab). In winter we recommend suitable winter equipment; the access road to the house is cleared.

The final approach to the house

Since summer 2025, Wagrain has had a new bypass road. Older satnav systems, Google Maps and Apple Maps do not yet always route the final section correctly and may suggest roads that are closed to cars by barriers. For the last few minutes, please follow these directions rather than your satnav. This is the only possible approach by car, whichever motorway exit you use:

  1. At the first roundabout, “Nord” (by the Billa supermarket), take the bypass road towards Kleinarl (southbound).
  2. At the second roundabout, “Süd” (near the large SPAR Landmarkt), take the second exit, uphill towards Kirchboden.
  3. Immediately before the smaller SPAR Höller (Kirchboden 6), turn right.
  4. Turn right straight away, then immediately left.
  5. Continue straight ahead. After the right-hand bend you will see us on the left: Haid 39, Apartmenthaus Kristall.

Important: If your satnav – including Google Maps or Apple Maps – suggests another route via the upper or lower access road, please do not take it. These roads are closed to cars by barriers. With our links above this will not happen. If you are using a built-in car satnav, a practical option is to navigate first to “SPAR Höller, Kirchboden 6, Wagrain” and then follow steps 3 to 5 above.

Parking at the house

One parking space directly at the house is included per apartment – no searching for parking, and the spaces are cleared in winter. Spaces are not assigned to individual apartments.

Arriving by electric car – charging included

EV charging – Parking spaces with EV charging directly at the house - 4 wallboxes with fixed Type 2 cables and up to 11 kW AC are available for our 6 apartments; unlock with the RFID chip in the apartment key tag; charging is free and there is no need to move the car; in summer, solar power from our own roof during the day; at busy times we coordinate use as needed.

Park at a space with an EV charging point, plug in and unlock with your apartment key tag – done. No moving the car, no hunting for a charger, no cable of your own, no app, no charging card, no surcharge. Your car can stay there for your whole holiday. Step-by-step instructions, handy on your phone at the parking area: EV charging.

Arrive, plug in, sleep. You arrive on Saturday evening after a long drive with the battery nearly empty. Parking, plug in, key tag. While you sleep your first night in the mountains, your car charges. During the week it can stay put: the Grafenberg lift is a five-minute walk away. And on Friday evening you simply plug in again – for the journey home.

In summer your car charges during the day with solar power from our own roof and in the evening from our battery storage – on sunny days our photovoltaic system produces more electricity than the house uses. In winter the box charges right away from our battery and the grid.

The charging power adapts to the house’s consumption. At busy times we coordinate use as needed. Your car stays at the parking space – there is no need to move it for charging. One vehicle per apartment is included. If anything ever goes wrong, we are right here – we live in the house.

Topping up in between is easy too: back from a day trip, just plug in again – in summer directly with solar power during the day. If you are in a hurry, there is a public Salzburg AG fast-charging station with up to 300 kW (DC) at the Grafenberg lift, about five minutes away on foot (station on the Salzburg AG charging map (öffnet in neuem Tab)).

Please let us know briefly when booking that you are arriving by electric car.

Bikes and skis: Bike & e-bike storage room – A dedicated storage room is available for bicycles and e-bikes. Skis and snowboards can be stored in the lockable ski room, and ski boots can dry in the boot room next to the house entrance.

Garden Apartments 1, 2 and 3: E-bikes can be wheeled through the garden to the terrace, where they can be parked and charged. Each garden apartment has an outdoor power socket

By train and bus

The nearest railway station is St. Johann im Pongau, with good regional and long-distance connections via Salzburg. From there, bus 530 reaches Wagrain in about 10 minutes; a taxi is another option.

Tip – even your journey to Wagrain can be free: Complete our pre-check-in before you travel and you can receive your Guest Mobility Ticket digitally on your phone before arrival. It is already valid for public transport within the province of Salzburg, for example by train and bus from Salzburg city or Salzburg Airport to Wagrain.

Once you are here, you do not need a car: The Guest Mobility Ticket gives you free use of public transport throughout the province of Salzburg for your entire stay – from the local bus to Jägersee at the end of the valley to a day trip to Salzburg city. In winter, ski buses also operate locally; they are free with a guest card or valid ski pass.

By air

The nearest airport is Salzburg Airport, about 70 km away or roughly one hour by car. From there you can continue by hire car, taxi or transfer, or by train via St. Johann im Pongau.
